Sadly, most of the companies do vigorously defend their rights, having no clue how much YouTube and the likes help to SELL music and videos. but they should start to ask themselves where they would be without the fans? In that case, and if I was a copyright holder, I'd want to see people buying the video (either on disc or as a download through iTunes) rather than viewing it online for free. You also need to bear in mind that, as mentioned elsewhere in the Forum, the slew of 'Vox releases hurtling our way at the moment will likely include a new version of The (video) Collection at some point. That said, it may be that those copyright holders are intending to have an official online distribution channel.possibly even through YouTube itself. Not wishing to be controversial here but copyright holders are entitled to enforce their control of rights, if they so choose to.
